Abstract
Stiff-person syndrome (SPS) is characterised by progressive rigidity and muscle spasms affecting the axial and limb muscles. Autoantibodies to the GABA-synthesizing enzyme glutamic acid decarboxylase, present in about 60-85% of patients, have indicated an autoimmune pathogenesis. Thus, other autoimmune diseases may occur or, rarely, neoplasms may occur together. We report a case of a patient diagnosed with SPS at the age of 20 who was diagnosed with Hodgkin disease 4 years later.
